I’ve Still Got It

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

Even though I’ve been styling and dressing women for years, it’s still a thrill for my 23 year-old daughter to call me up and say, “Mom! I need your help for my photo shoot!”

Kara is a dancer and needed some new photos for her portfolio. We had a bizarre mother-daughter moment when we each (out of the blue) confessed that we loved Beyonce’s new 1960′s-inspired music video and thought that it would be the perfect inspiration for the shoot. Weird, inexplicable mother-daughter telepathy…

Anyway, I immediately got to work, pulling my A-Team together. Since Kara would be flying from her home in New York to Santa Fe  for the shoot, I knew I had to work some magic for the shoot to be hip enough for the New York scene. I enlisted Daniel Nadelbach, a renown Santa Fe-an photographer with an eye for high fashion; Joseph Charles, an extremely talented local makeup-artist; Willow Rose Adams, my amazing hair stylist; and Goler, the local and sophisticated retailer of shoes and clothing.

Everything was set and the shoot was so much fun. Thank you to Daniel, Joseph, Willow and Goler for providing fabulousness. Please enjoy a few of the pictures!

Real Style Runs in Families

Wednesday, October 12th, 2011

Me and Chico on opening night

Lately, I’ve been going fashion-crazy over Goler Shoes on Palace Avenue. Those ladies have such a great eye. You can’t walk in the store without immediately coveting 20 pairs of shoes. And they have great clothes (wow).

Apparently real style runs in families. Last week Chico Goler showed his artistic eye when he curated a wonderful opening for local Santa Fe-an artist Sergio Moyano.

Sergio’s art is stunning. Large canvases lined the interior of El Museo, all filled with beautiful and abstract explosions of paint. The colors and energy were so strong and forceful that they literally grabbed me and pulled me in.

You have to see these works so stop by El Museo in the Railyard before the 16th to check them out. Great job Chico! Thank you for curating this show and re-introducing Sergio to Santa Fe!
